RULES
of the
PARROT PUB
TOOTH CHALLENGE
2004
Sketch © Ken Layson 2004
RULES
Top
Games must be played at the
Parrot Pub
(Rising Sun, Cotman's Ash, Kemsing).
Games played elsewhere are not valid for the
Challenge
unless an application for an
Away
game has first been ratified by the Committee.
Any number of players may participate, but a solo player may prefer the related game of
Tooth Patience
.
A
Religious Advisor
is elected, to whom all disputes or queries are referred.
Each participant places
10p
in the
kitty
. Larger amounts may be negotiated by the players, or imposed by the
Religious Advisor
.
Each player totals up their own real teeth, and writes the number down on the form, without disclosing this number to others.
Crowns count as real, provided at least 50% of the tooth remains. Root canals, dentures, bridges or other artefacts are disallowed.
The effects of any incidental loss of teeth during the game (eg to rugby matches, eating sticky toffee pudding or crusty bread) are to be ignored.
A player may nominate a
Friend
to the
Religious Advisor
and include their teeth in the count. The
Friend
may also be a dog.
Invocations to the
Tooth Fairy
are not permitted.
The forms are folded and passed to the
Religious Advisor
for safe keeping.
Each player then states their estimate of the total number of real teeth of the participants, which is recorded by the
Religious Advisor
.
The
Religious Advisor
will open the folded forms and add up the actual number of teeth.
The
Winner
is the player whose estimate is closest to the actual number of teeth.
The
Winner
collects the
kitty
and buys the next round if the Religious Advisor so states.
Anyone found cheating has to pay a penalty, decided by the
Religious Advisor.
